Teton Wireless Static IP Settings Guide - Linksys Routers   Linksys.com Logo

In order to configure your Linksys router with a static IP address, you will need the following information:

IP Address

Subnet Mask

Default Gateway

Domain Name Server (DNS) addresses

Access the Router's Web interface by typing http://192.168.1.1 into your Web browser.

A password window will appear.  Leave username blank and enter the password as admin (all lower case). Click OK.

Once on the Setup page, go directly to the WAN IP Address or WAN Connection Type tab and change the option from Obtain an IP address Automatically  to Specify an IP Address.

Enter your IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway Address and Domain Name Server (DNS) addresses.

Scroll down and click Apply.

If settings are accepted, be sure the LAN setting for DHCP is Enabled to automatically assign private IP Addresses to your computers.

Plug your computer(s) in to the Router, and be sure the computers' network settings are configured to Obtain IP Address Automatically.  We do recommend that you retain the DNS addresses in each computers' network settings as well as in the Router.
